Family Sports Golf Course
About
The golf course at the Family Sports Golf Course (formerly known as Family Golf Center at Centennial Airport) is a nine-hole course with a links-style layout. The course is perfect for beginners and kids, therefore making it a perfect place for a golf outing for the entire family. Richard Phelps, an extremely popular course designer in Colorado, created the course. The course is 2,241 yards and plays to a par of 31. Although it is a short course it features several challenging elements for golfers to really learn the game or just practice their short game. The average-sized greens are fairly undulating and there are generous fairways. The Family Sports Golf Course also features water hazards that come into play on some holes. The signature hole is the par-5 fifth hole, which is not only one of the lengthier holes of the course, it also plays uphill.

Good value
This facility is very nice. The pro shop is well stocked and check in was easy. Practice facilities are very good with your choice of artificial turf or grass hitting areas. I like the chipping area.. Plenty of yardage selections for your needs. Course was in very good condition and the grees superb, and pretty quick. This is a beginner type of course and I understood this going in, as I have played it before....but come on, the pace was excruciating... Over two hours to play??? Not one ranger to be seen to move folks along, or at least try. The executive nature of the course has something to do with this and the many par 3s slow things down. Expect this to take far more time than you think, unless you are the first ones out. I would rather beginners play here than slow play on the regulation courses however.. The 9th hole is solid and from the Blues its the best hole out there...with a wind in your face, it's downright tough and you better hit the green...... Overall, fun and a very good value if you have the time...and who doesn't like to see the contant flow of planes buzzing over you head from the airport.
Great Value-Terrible Pace
Course is always maintained very well considering the type of golfer that is usually there. Hard to keep up with the lack of consideration by most golfers lack of self maintenance. Pace is TERRIBLE unless you get out early.
Play only if you have 3 hours for 9 holes
Course was in decent shape. Fun executive 9 but pace of play was absolutely awful! Maybe because it is priced so cheap ($12 on Golfnow). Waited ten minutes on each tee box.
A nice executive course
The staff was exceptionally good. Very friendly and accommodating. I golfed with my three kids so that was really appreciated. Very kid friendly. Course had just been aerated so conditions were not ideal. On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised by the quick pace of play--it helped that we teed off early.
great time
For early spring conditions, the course was in very good shape. The only negative was a foursome in front of us that had three children playing and little to no attention paid by the adult. waited to tee off on every hole while the kids ran around playing.
Always Fun at Family Sports Center
I always have a great time at Family Sports Center. Low key, not stuffy or uptight and great place to work on your irons. There are two Par 4s and one long Par 5. The rest are short Par 3s. This course is for beginners and pace of play is usually pretty slow because everyone is learning. So don't go if you are too serious about your game. You won't have fun... Otherwise, if you want to go to a decent course and have a relaxing 9 holes for an awesome price (usually $8.50+ $2.49 fee via golfnow.com), check it out. I usually go once a every other week. Have fun! NOTE: It's right by the Centennial airport so airplanes are always flying low overhead. Kinda neat at first, but can be a distraction. Just a heads up.
Not golfnow friendly
The staff here seem to resent golfnow bookings, twice I've encountered attitude towards golfnow bookings. This time , they tried to charge me $19 until I said I booked for $8.50. "You're right sir, my mistake." The tone was very negative. Will not play here again , though I do use the practice facility (you don't have to deal with staff .)
A beautiful day.
The course condition was unexpectedly good for this time of the year. It was certainly a great dollar value. I would do it again on any given day.
Fun course
I would play this course over and over again it just that fun. Par of 31 with 2 par 4 and one par 5 and some longer par 3's. It gave me a chance to work on short game. Pace of play is kinda slow since this is a family course and kids and beginners on the course. Easy course to walk no need for a cart. Recommend playing this course for beginners all the way up to advanced players just a fun time and fun course great conditions for fall golf
Great Value
First time playing in Colorado and this little course was well worth twice the cost. Would highly recommend for a quick nine or practice
Good Deal
Course is in really good condition and practice facilites are awesome, but on the weekend 9 holes takes all day to play. Tried to get a quick 9 in, but had to leave after playing 2 holes in over half an hour.
Fun Course
Fun course, 1 par 5 a few par 4 and the rest par 3. This place has a wonderful driving range, 2 tiered, great mats to drive off of, plus chipping green, driving range on grass too.
Decent Course
I've been to this course a handful of times. Always cheap when buying on golfnow. 6.50 for 9 holes is a great value for this place. I've walked every time. The course is pretty well maintained. Wish they had a drink cart driving around; bring your own.
Nice course for families
I played with my 2 grandsons. There are lots of kids and families. Don't expect to play fast. Friendly staff. I enjoy playing the course with my wife and grandchildren.
Great course before going to work
I use this course to help improve my short game and get some exercise before going to work. The value for the money is excellent!!
quick review
OK course, greens in good shape. slow play, easy course. good for beginners.
