About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

long grass to longer grass+dimples
I lost two balls on the #1 Gold hole, due to early morning sun in face and long second cut (about 4 to 6 inches) several tee boxes not mowed any time recently. some greens not really puttable (knew that going in) ditch along 17 and 18 trees and weeds are so high you almost can't see the green from the fairways.
Disappointed
Have played here many times over the years
I made the tee time. Week in advance.
No mention of aeration happening.
Greens were aerated and I had guest from out of town

Pace of play is awful
A 6 hour round is not uncommon here on a Saturday.
Nobody on the course from the club to try and speed up playing.
Really needs resolving as it's a good course to play
Good not Great
Some unique holes. Grass really eats balls. Conditions were worse than other courses in the area. Constantly plane traffic overhead, landing at the nearby general use airport I believe.
pace of play
Had to wait on the last eight tee boxes for a while each time. Very aggravating to watch people play like they are the only ones there.
Also lost a few balls when we encountered some extremely long rough on a few holes where the shots were in play.
Outstanding
The course is in great shape and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Pace of Play
Our front nine was great. Finished in under 2 hours.
They put out a group event on the back nine which we caught up to and the pace came to a grinding halt. The group that was two ahead of us were EXTREMELY slow.
Confused
This has to potential to be a great golf course. The problem is it is managed so poorly that you have to question about playing there. I personally feel that the people in the upper management only care about how much money they bring in and not about the golfer.
They use the course as if it is there private club and don't care about the every day golf.
This course used to be ranked as one of the top 100 coursed in the U.S.. Not even close anymore.
