Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Hot day, but I chose it.
The course was in remarkable shape and the pace of play was excellent, though my groups was slow as we had a couple of youngsters getting to know the game.
A good day on the golf course
A good day to be on the golf course. It was a little warm and the pace of play was OK, completed the 18 holes in just over 3.5 hours. The overall course condition was pretty good, just a few rough spots, seemed to be well maintained.
Good Value, Fun Layout
Hyland Hills Gold offers a great variety of holes in a really nice setting. There are more trees here than most courses in the area, and players are rewarded with some wonderful views of the front range after climbing the 11th hole.
This track offers plenty of opportunities to hit driver and several spots where the player will have to make a strategic decision off the tee. There is quite a bit of risk reward out there, and a few blind shots. There are a few gettable par 5s, a good variety of par 4s, and the par 3s are fairly short with a few wicked green complexes. The par 3 8th probably has the biggest green on the course, but for my money is the most difficult to hit.
Conditions are pretty good. This course is very popular so it gets a ton of play. The grounds staff does a good job of maintaining the fairways and keeping the greens smooth. Staff is all very friendly. Pace of play was ok. About 4.5 hours for an afternoon time. Pretty typical for the area.
If you are looking for a fun round of golf at a good value then HH Gold is always a good option.
First timer
Had a great time. Course was in great shape. The only thing is the mats on the range are in need of some help.
Course is fun and well maintained. The pace of play is slow. We teed off 12 minutes past our tee time and waited on every hole.
3 Time HHGC Club Campion
I wish it was the course it once was, in 1993 it was a “must play” course. I understand that there are a lot of variables in play now. This course is still one of my all time favorites.
Slow but Awesome
Pace of play here is always an issue. Home of the 5 hour round. Love the layout and amenities.
Nice golf course
Our first experience at this course was fantastic. Very nice course to play for the price.
Gorgeous clean and well maintained
Played the gold 18 and it was great ... got dark and stopped at hole 8 and they credited us the unfinished holes for the next time we came ... we're here for work from Wisconsin and would recommend this course to anyone ... in fact we rebooked our remainder holes for 07/05 ... staff was very courteous and helpful.
6/27 Hyland hills round
Pace of play was not good. 2hrs 10 min on front was good my 2 46 on back was bad and did not see a single single Marshall
6/27/2023
Overall a good round but extremely slow. 2:10 on the front - good - but 2:45 on the back - not good. Nearly 5 hours and not a ranger or marshall in sight. Course was in good shape.
