Green Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Along with a nine-hole, par-3 course, Green Valley Ranch Golf Club also offers an 18-hole championship length course. Designed by Perry Dye, the course is 7,241 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course is a short distance south of the Denver International Airport and downtown Denver is easily accessible. The course is challenging and also scenic; it is not a rare occurrence to see wildlife such as deer on the course. Dye successfully incorporated the natural landscape of the area. The natural creeks and wetlands as well as the beautiful cottonwood trees were kept in tact. The course has received several honors from widely read golf magazines such as Golf Digest and Golf Week.

Enjoying the course... Photo submitted by Williamsed on 11/10/2012
Still needs work
Very slow play for a Monday. No ranger to be seen, greens need a lot of work. Nice course, really like the layout but over priced for the value this time of the year.
Fun course
This course was challenging and a ball eater if you don't hit the ball straight. The only thing was that the greens were in a little rough shape when I played it. Overall worth a play and a great course
course was alright
While the course was alright, the starter was completely rude and unfriendly.
Good value. Course not in great shape.
Great staff. Scenic. Needs water! Dry and brown in places. Greens are pretty rough.
Beautiful layout in surprisingly good shape.
Played Thursday the 25th, for my second round of the year. After playing Colorado National on Sunday and finding the greens healing incredibly slowly from their aeration, I wasn't expecting much from GVR. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the greens were actually healing quite nicely. Not great, but playable and relatively smooth, all things considered. The layout itself was great. A lot of variety to the hole and green designs, along with plenty of bunkers and hazards to force some real course management, which isn't always easy when you don't have trees. It was definitely a little tough from the tips, but not as difficult as prior reviews led me to believe. Pars were pretty simply managed most of the way around, but I can see how birdies would be hard to come by a majority of the time. Getting a final score in red numbers would be no small feat. All in all, I snagged a deal for $21 with range time included (an absolute steal for a course this good), and had a great time. Tammy, the clubhouse bartender was also fantastic, and the happy hour specials for food and drinks couldn't be beat. I'll definitely be going back again, even if I have to pay full price.
Tough with alot of wetlands
Tough off the tee. Well maintained fairways. Greens are still in late winter shape, but were soft. High quality course and professional operation. Make sure you review the 18th hole before you play!
Course played well, but it is a challenging track
The course was in decent shape for this time of the year, but as always, it is a very challenging track. You need to play this course several times to know where to land the ball to avoid the many hazards.
Tough but fun!
It's a very challenging course, but so nice! First time around I played well to shoot 89... Lack of knowledge of the course will change that. GPS readings were spot on... All in all I recommend and will be back to this course.
It's a very fun course
It's still in early season but fairways were in good shape rough is weak and very thin, doesn't really help with having to hit the fairway. Greens are still punched and sanded pretty heavy. Really had to fight to get a putt to drop within 5 feet. Overall great course and fun highly recommended to decent players.
First Rate
Some players may quibble about the layout. The announcements can be a tad overwrought - "Green Valley Ranch is honored to welcome the Choi foursome." The GPS contraption is extremely communicative. Despite all that GVR is still a good, hard track. Considering it was the second day of spring the turf was in great shape. The ball rolled well on the greens. It's obvious they put a lot of energy into maintaining the place. As far as the golf, GVR is not easy. At times it can be extremely punitive, missing the green right at 11 for instance or being over-aggressive at 16. It's a fun course that will let you blast the driver and force you concentrate hard on placing a perfect shot.
Great course and level of difficulty.
Wonderful experience. Friendly staff . Price was the best!!
It's good.
I kow this course. I was play lots of times. Staff always frendly and so nice. If I have chance I'll play again. Very good deal.
A solid track
Currently winter conditions, but a good course. Large greens, but undulating and you need to be in the right third. Will be going back and wonder why I haven't been playing here until now.
For winter play, it was great!!
I can tell that this course is one of the best in the area during the spring/summer/fall time. Everyhole has a challenging aspect to it, and it makes the player use every club in the bag. The staff was also very friendly and accomodating...not to mention the food menu looked good as well!!
For winter months, great shape. Always enjoy the course/routing.

GVR is what every public course should be!
GVR offers a total golf experience for the serious golf amateur. It is the closest thing to a private golf club that can be found among the public courses in Colorado.
Nice Rate on a very nice winter course
Considering the time of year, GVR played great. Greens bumpy but fair Tee'd off at 0920 and the greens were hard but once the sun came out the course played great. Payed $29.00 for Green Fees, cart with GPS.
Fairly difficult for average golfer, but playable. Lots of sand and nasty rough.
For late fall play, with Golfnow discount, was well worth playing. You can't beat the mid-60's weather of Colorado. Greens were a little rough due to earlier aeration. Definitely pays to keep it in the fairway as it is not very forgiving.
Good track, poor greens, slow play, tees too far forward
I have played the course several times before, and I like the layout. However, I was disappointed that the blue tees were so far forward this time while most of the blacks were at the tips. And, despite the forward tees, the pace of play was way too slow.
The greens were in relatively poor shape, but a lot of courses struggle in the fall. Still, given the reduced fall price, it was well worth the money. Too many other courses try to collect full price even when course conditions are marginal.
