Green Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Along with a nine-hole, par-3 course, Green Valley Ranch Golf Club also offers an 18-hole championship length course. Designed by Perry Dye, the course is 7,241 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course is a short distance south of the Denver International Airport and downtown Denver is easily accessible. The course is challenging and also scenic; it is not a rare occurrence to see wildlife such as deer on the course. Dye successfully incorporated the natural landscape of the area. The natural creeks and wetlands as well as the beautiful cottonwood trees were kept in tact. The course has received several honors from widely read golf magazines such as Golf Digest and Golf Week.

Enjoying the course... Photo submitted by Williamsed on 11/10/2012
Great late season round
Got a beautiful day to play Green Valley Ranch which is in pretty good shape for this late in the season. Greens and fairways still have marks from aeration but overall course is very nice. Nobody out on the course so I was able to speed around course in 2.5 hours. Don't know what regular pace of play is, but I would definitely like to come back and play this course again. Layout of course was challenging and fun.
Fun Fun Fun
I have played htis course quite a ew times and always have enjoyed it and it has always beenin good shape, even during the winter. Don't miss the chance to play it, especially if you get a deal.
GVR Fun
Green Valley Ranch ("GVR") is a really nice course with challenging holes that cover all the risks of golf. Forced carries, strategic bunkers, water, ESA, elevated tees & greens, and massive cottonwoods make sure that errant shots require super recovery skills. The greens are in great shape but could be mowed to cut down on the jumpy putts. The staff was amazing...pro shop guys, Tammy our drink attendant and Mike the Man our bartender were all super friendly and folks I will make sure to look up the next time I play GVR. Overall, a challenging, rewarding and enjoyable golf experience. GVR will keep the good times rolling right into the cup (for Birdie!).
good course, need better pace of play, airaited greens still bumpie
started at 2;03 and couldn"t finish by 6:20. left 3 holes unplayed. greens still real bumpie. not good for the putting syskie.
A bit disappointing
I have played Green Valley many times. This trip was a bit disappointing. Even though it is early October, the staff should have notified us, even at check in, that they had recently aerated the fairways and greens. It slowed us down and to have 3 holes still with the plugs and mud and tire treads throughout made for a long day. I still play and recommend Green Valley often. I just would have appreciated more notification about maintenance.
Intimidating
Not a lot of room to miss left or right. Not much rough, just a bunch of junk that you won't find your ball in. Holes are fun and interesting with each being a little different. Some strategically placed trees on several holes protect the greens. Greens were punched already so ball did not roll true. Would like to play again with pristine greens.
Excellent Course
Very nice course, I would definitely recommend. Keep in mind it's sort of out in the boonies by the airport so it's a bit of a drive to get there but definitely worth it if you can find the time.
Nice work GVR
Great rate, impeccable condition, wonderful staff and fantastic pace. What more can one ask for?
Great Course, friendly staff!
This was such a great experience from the proshop (very friendly staff) to the deck overlooking the 18th green afterwards that my friend and I went back the very next day. This course hosts the Colorado Open and I can understand why, the course itself was in pristine condition, greens rolled fast and true. One of the best course's I've ever played!. Everytime I'm in Denver from now on, this one is on the list to play and getting it on golf now was a bonus.
2 hours, 40 minutes to play the front nine
Called for ranger through GPS system after having 3 groups on the 5th hole. Ranger never showed up. Left after nine holes as the course clearly doesn't care about slow play. This is the course for you if you want to walk around in circles waiting all day.
With many forced carries it is imperitive to play the proper tee
I have a real love hate relationship with Green Valley Ranch , While not a long hitter I usually find the short grass which is vital to scoring as the rough is very penal.Unfortunately that wasntt the case last time out and it cost me dearly. Also many signs of recent storm events which have affected some of the cart paths and the waste bunker up hole ten. Still enjoy playing here and also their breakfast burritos.
Great Last Minute Deal
My wife and I decided to go golfing about an hour before tee time. We found Green Valley Ranch online with a good deal. It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised. The course was in good shape, and the staff was really easy to work with. Everyone was friendly. Overall, it was a very quiet, enjoyable day.
Best course in Denver
For how challenging and beautiful the course is the price point is the best in Denver! The course is always is great condition and the greens are quick and true... I recommend GVR to any and all golfers looking for a challenge and a great time on the course.
Snail Pace
Played here twice now and it appears they overbook or don't space out their tee times enough. The pace of play is incredibly slow, there is contruction going on in the middle of some of the holes + cart parts. Not worth the price, even the reduced Golfnow price.
This is a well designed course
The course is maintained well and the design is great.
Toughest course I've ever played.
This is the toughest course I've ever played in my life. Excellent condition, friendly staff, great rates, and shifty members (TY!). Awesome course; play it immediately.
Flash flood
There was a flash flood a few days before I played, #17 was closed due to the bridge being out. I usually enjoy the course but this time it was not the best condition.
A good challenge for sure
This course is very beautiful and definitely challenged me to hit some shots. Will come back for more
