Eagle Trace Golf Club
About
The course at Eagle Trace Golf Club is one of several in Colorado that were designed by architect Richard Phelps. Views of the Rockies and splendid Cottonwoods sprinkled across the course make it an enjoyable game. Five lakes and over sixty bunkers add some challenging elements to the course. Located in Broomfield, the golf course is 6,529 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Eagle Trace Golf Club also offers teeboxes specifically made for children. They also have a junior golf program for kids under 10.

Pathetic dog track
Eagle Trace is in terrible condition from tee to green. Don't bother playing this pathetic dog track!
Interesting track but no attention to detail
Feels like they gave up some time ago. Did not see a beverage cart for 14 holes
Course requires maintenance.
We found the tee boxes and several fairways not in good shape (spotty, dry areas with no grass). The greens were in reasonable condition.
Too much money for a course in horrible condition
Greens were bumpy the fairways were brown in alot of places and the tee boxes were very un-even and looked like you are teeing off out of the rough
winter kill
some of the greens and tee boxes had winter kill! if i play here again i will play winter rules!
Nees work
Course was not in good shape although still early in the year. Teeboxes all needed work, a few barely had grass. Most greens were in poor condition.
Greens are in need of some serious repair!
I was not impressed with anything at this course. The round was expensive, the greens were in very poor condition, and the tee boxes were uneven and unmaintained. The course itself is very pretty short and not very challenging.
It also took about 20mins to get a sandwich at the turn.
Good price for average course
Good price for average course. Back 9 better than front.
in the worst shape i have ever seen
Greens are dead fairways are dirt very little rough to speak of
Good, Bad and UGLY!
The good: the greens are in good shape. The bad: purchased a "Hot Deal" which was still too much $$ for this course. Cart path only was never advertised, snow still on the course and bunkers flooded. The UGLY: The fairways are in horrible shape from lack of water. The carts have dirty / torn seats. There are no hole markers to tell yardages or hole numbers. Spend you $$ elsewhere, Broadlands is 2 min further north and Colorado National is 10 min further north - both are in great shape and a better value.
not awesome but for $25, not bad
weather was in the mid 50's but turned nasty at the turn. Called the manager to get a 9 hole raincheck and he said no problem. Put the bags in the car, turned in the cart, and went in to get the raincheck. When the manager saw we had booked thru Golfnow.com, he changed his mind, and wouldn't give any credit.
Very unprofessional.
We called Golfnow.com customer service and they issued a refund for half the round. Thanks guys!
This course is a poorly maintained mess.
the course was in beyond poor condition. Worse than that was the fact that we had asked for a rain check due to unplayable weather conditions from the course via cell phone to the club house. The club house attendant had granted that verbally over the phone. When we went into the club house, the same attendant refused the rain check because we had "booked on line". Rude and unprofessional was the staff, the course itself was in extremely poor, almost unplayable conditions. I would not play here for any price.
Nice Day
I had a nice day at Eagle Trace. The staff is great! Early season so the course still needs to mature. Overall pretty good.
Challenging greens if you miss on the wrong side
I played the course in the first day of spring so conditions are not considered. The course layout is ok. Walking this course would be extremely easy since a lot of the tees are directly across from the green. At times it seems like the course was designed with a walker in mind. If you ride expect to park past your tee and walk back to the appropriate box. Greens were dormant so they were hard to gauge but did have a decent amount of undulations. Tee shots are challenging on holes they should be and more forgiving on the longer more difficult holes. The back nine is much more difficult than front with tighter driving areas and more undulation on the greens. All and all decent track.
Fun Average Course
Eagle Trace is a fun, if very average course. The conditions were OK for March golf in CO, hard fairways and brown greens, but not any worse than others I have played on. The staff were pleasant, not super friendly but not jerks either. Overall it was a very average, OK, round. For $25 to walk not a great deal, but not bad either. Very middle of the road.
This course was a good deal.
I would play the course all the time for $20 dollar.
Good little muni course
We played on Fathers Day which may not be a fair test of the course. Lots of kids, slow play and long waits. Overall, not a bad course. We got a buy one get one, so the price was right. The course was in fair to good shape, with dry spots on the fairways. The greens were good. Oveall an enjoyable day.
Great for Dec 1st
I played walking hitting 2 balls in less than 3 hours. Greens were fine for playing on Dex 1st.
Course is short from the tips. So lots of birdie and eagle trys.
Eagle Trace is a good value for a round of golf
I think the course could use some work. Even though it is winter season I believe some of the same issues have been there all year. There are areas on the course(most holes) that are really worn and I believe some of it has to do wit hw hwre carts are allowed, especially on the sides and around some greens. I also think one of the biggest issues is that the sand in the traps needs to be addresssed. It's really like hitting out of dirt.
Course condition was pretty decent considering the time of year.
With less than optimum weather conditions, we were surprised at how crowded the course was. Played EXTREMELY slow -- we were unable to finish.
