Flatirons Golf Course
About
The golf course at Flatirons Country Club has a long and unique history, undergoing several name changes, renovations, and even a location change since its conception in 1938. It is a popular choice since it accommodates all skill levels but also provides adequate challenges. The course has fast greens and narrow, tree-lined fairways. Water hazards and bunkers come into play on several of the holes. In addition to the excellent game it provides, the course also has a reputation for being in excellent condition. Flatirons Country Club has practice facilities including a practice green and chipping area as well as an on-site instructor and pro shop.

Great Value with a Convenient Location in the Heart of Boulder
I played this course for the first time in April, and was pleasantly surprised to find great conditions from tee to green for a great value. Friendly staff and just a few minutes from downtown Boulder. The par 70 has a very similar hole design for several of its par 4's, but the course is challenging enough to keep things interesting. Would highly recommend as one of the best value courses in the area.
Late fall golf in Colorado
When the opportunity to play a round of golf at the end of November with 70 degree temperatures and little to no wind in Boulder you take it. The course was in average condition with a few of the teeing grounds netted for the rest of the season but the greens were in very good condition given the time of year and were lightning fast, but true. The course was full but the pace of play was good, taking slightly over 4 hours to complete 18 holes.
Steer clear of this course
Probably the biggest let downs I’ve ever had for a golf course. The staff was not friendly, it took us 30 minutes to get to the second tee box, and there was zero oversight on any pace of play or other golfers. I’m not one to go out of my way to point it all out but if I can save one more person from wasting their time i’m happy to do so. Also, the course is nothing special. Take your money elsewhere.
Great views!
I enjoyed it lots of leaves this time of year made for some challenges with finding the ball but great greens and fun course and great views of the mountains
Great Course
The Flatirons is a great course, in excellent shape. I played the same day as this review, on a day when it was 50* and a light mist. The course was empty except for a tournament which the last group was on hole 16 when I started on hole 1. The greens were firm and fast, even being wet, which was a nice surprise because I like a course with some challenge. The fairways and rough was also perfect. The course is flat and has a very simple layout.
The only trouble it had was a couple creeks that run here and there that were mostly hidden from the tee, so that added a little bit of unknown that was otherwise lacking.
The workers were very nice, though I'm sure they were mad because I was the last person on the course by an hour. I didn't practice or buy any food or drinks but the range and practice areas looked great and the 19th hole looked very inviting as well. I will definitely play here again...probably tomorrow.
Really nice course for an excellent fee
The course was very wet in spots because of the recent snow & rain. It is a nice layout and challenging. The greens were in great shape. The starters were very accommodating. I would definitely play this course again. I am a 16 index and didn't play that well and shot an 89.
The hidden stream got me a couple of times.
This course brought back good memories.
I played the front nine only and it was in great shape and fun to play. This course is just like the old park setting courses I grew up playing back east. Most often a missed hit drive lands in the neighboring fairway which can be easily bumped back in play. The fairways are tree lined and some are tight so to make this a fun and enjoyable round be sure to check your ego in the parking lot and pick the shorter tees. Once played a couple times then move back if you like. Next couple of times I play there that's what I will do.
Not as good as I remember.
I used to belong to Flatirons when it was a country club and is was a great course. I decided to try it now and I was less than impressed. The course is nowhere as well kept up as it once was. The price was very high compared to other courses that a much less expensive and in better shape. It was a little sad to see how far the course had dropped over the years.
This course was challenging for all levels.
The course was in good shape. The greens were a little quick but rolled true. A couple of the tees were temporary while they were letting them grow back. Several water hazards made the course very challenging at times.
Great course
Course is awesome very beautiful and difficult. Wouldn't recommend it to a beginner
Slow play; lack of course management.
Play was slow because we were several two soles trailing an eight some playing on the course. Why is this allowed??? Play was insanely slow. No course Marshall. Will not return after this experience.
Flatirons GC
Great course for the price. Mature trees make narrow fairways.
Rusty from Louisville
Always a good course to play and the staff will fit you in just about any day.
all but perfect
great for mid to high handicap and beginners. people were very nice and we enjoyed the entire day.
flatirons golf not worth the $
I found their course unimaginative and covered in leaves and not exactly perfectly maintained. It's a perfect course if you enjoy nothing but straight shots to the hole or lots of trees.
The local golfers all have an I'm better than you mentality and you do not feel very welcome at all.
It's to pricy for what you get.
Flatiron golf course in Boulder, CO
Ranger needs to pull people who play extremely slow off for a few holes to get the point across that they are playing too slowly!
