Buffalo Run Golf Course
About
Buffalo Run Golf Course is a locally acclaimed 18-hole, municipal course in Commerce City. The links-style layout covers 7,411 yards from its longest tees with a par of 72. Designed by Keith Foster, there are challenging elements such as water hazards and bunkers that come into play on the course. The wind creates difficulty on this golf course. Buffalo Run Golf Course's front nine is less challenging than the back nine but it builds up good practice for the second half of the game. One hole to note is the demanding 13th hole. It is a par-3 that has a well-placed bunker near the green.

This was typical rough today. Photo submitted by Kofoed27 on 06/14/2021
Good day for golf
A beautiful November day. The course was in rough shape on several holes still. I know they have been working on the course for a long time but I thought it would be much better by now. I just want to see the course back the way it used to be.
Reconstruction seemingly gone extremely bad
Compared to the conditions a year ago this course has fallen head first off a cliff. I hope it somehow turns a positive corner but based off what I saw and having broke a wedge in half in what was called a fairway I have my doubts. Caution for land mines
Hot Mess
Course is under a lot of repairs and the pace of play was super slowwwwww. Like ridiculous and I only played 9 because the slow groups made the turn and I am not down to play 7 hour rounds. Course marshals just ride around not saying a word to people in the fairway hitting 2 and 3 balls. I won’t be back any time soon that is for sure
Massive On-course Repairs
The course is under massive repairs and update that effect current play. The price reflects this situation so, no big problem. The holes that are updated are excellent. So, go into a round knowing the situation and thank the staff for their hard work.
Course was being worked on so cart was waste of time and money. Hopefully it will be better next time.
Fun to play, but upkeep was poor
For the most part, this is a fun course to play. That said, the upkeep this time around left a lot to be desired. Some of the fairways are absolutely destroyed with sand/seed essentially making up the majority of the space. The rough is extremely long. The other part was the pace of play. Both times I've played, 18 holes has taken almost five hours. I'm not sure if it's because of start times or what, but it is brutal. That said, the staff and marshalls were very friendly.
Wait till next year
Could be a fun course. But it’s all torn up and fairways are full of sand. I will wait till next year before I play it again.
Also had a very slow group in front of us. Marshalls didn’t speed them up or let us play through.
under repair
They still work on the water project.
I played 17 holes.
Once it is done, it will be great golf course.
Terrible fairways
All I can say is MOW you can;t even see the fairways because of the high grass.Fairway # 9 closed and fairway #8 you have to walk it. I used to love this course and I hope they can turn it around by next year.
Rough time. Know what to expect
Even reading the reviews before hand, didn’t expect it to be this rough. Maybe that time of the year, but rough time. Hole 9 closed, slow play, multiple holes essentially just sand being regrown. The list goes on, but maybe the thing that twisted me the most was that a third of my range balls look like they had been whacked with a mower. Poor overall but I expected it looking at the reviews. Would hate to book a tee time as an out of state or out of town player because it would be a waste of time. And not to mention the rough and tee boxes that hadn’t been mowed anytime recently.
This course is terrible
Don’t waste your money, course sucks, Terrible condition, and the staff are not friendly at all, stay away!!!
Bad Experience
I don't usually write reviews, but was really disappointed in the course conditions. They're in the process of installing a drainage system, but to have fairways where there's little grass, numerous holes not allowing carts, carts directed back to paths 100 yds from the green, first cut aeration with such holes you can't find your ball...just toooo much!
Course conditions
The course was entirely torn apart. On hole 2 the entire fairway was sand. I understand aeration but this was unplayable.
Good day
Had to play the back nine twice since the front nine was closed due to aeration. We were notified of this ahead of time and it was fine. The back nine was in very good shape so we had a good day. Can't wait until they get the 2 or 3 holes open for carts on the back nine!! This will make playing there much better like it was in the past.
Under Maintenance - but discounted pricing = great value!
The course has been under maintenance the past year+ while they renovate the irrigation/drainage on the course. As a result, there are some pretty rough fairways with either bare dirt, over-grown fairways (as they can't cut them) or sand to repair the maintenance.
But - the greens are in really good shape. My buddy and I would adjust our lies in the fairways when it was reasonably acceptable to expect a good lie from a shot.
The rough here is no joke - it's thick and you need to watch your ball closely when not in the fairway. I lost 2 balls where my partner and I both saw the ball land in the rough, but we couldn't find it. Similarly, I found 5 balls today that were in the rough and likely lost by someone in a group in front of us. To be clear, the lost/found balls were in the rough, NOT in the hazard.
Would I play it again? At $45 (including cart), yes - I would. Buffalo Run realizes the course is under construction and is pricing it accordingly.
Decent Course
It is a decent enough course, nothing particularly special about this course that would make me come back other than the fact that it is now the closest course to my house. Food is ok at the restaurant and the course could have definitely been in better condition.
Buffalo run
There were a few holes that is under construction and in extremely poor shape. On top of that it was cart path only I would of been ok if the holes that were under construction were path only. But the whole course was path only. I love the layout but I wish they can maintain the course better. I haven't played this couse in 3 years because of the course conditions and it maybe another 3 years before I go again
